How is breast implant size selected?
Women have different goals as to how much bigger they would like to have their breast to be. Although most women presenting for breast augmentation request full C or small D cup size, some women prefer B cup or a large D cup. It is important to keep in mind that bras are made differently depending on the manufacturer. Therefore, a C cup bra purchased from one store may not be the same as a C cup bra purchased elsewhere. Using breast implant volume in cc’s is more reliable. During a consultation, the woman will put on a bra and insert breast implants of different volumes to estimate which size looks better on her. The plastic surgeon should also advise which volume would be appropriate depending on the person’s height, chest width, and breast anatomy and measurements. Breast implants come in different sizes and shapes. Dr. Grigoryants will show the implants and explain what type of breast enlargement result is achieved with each shape of the breast implant.
