Los Angeles Wrinkle Reduction and Lip Augmentation

A number of FDA approved products are available in the United States that provide safe and effective methods for wrinkle reduction and lip augmentation.

Restylane® is the most widely used agent in the United States for lip augmentation or wrinkle reduction. Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid based gel. It is derived from non-animal sources and is considered one of the safest agents. Different areas of human body, including the skin, contain hyaluronic acid.

We perform lip augmentation or wrinkle treatment in our office. These procedures take about 5-10 minutes. Many patients do not require any anesthesia. Some patients may desire local analgesia to minimize discomfort.

The results are immediate following treatment and last on the average of 4-6 months depending on the area treated. Touch-up procedures will be necessary in the future.

AlloDerm – is an acellular collagen sheet that is derived from processes donated human skin. AlloDerm is widely used for lip augmentation in the United States. AlloDerm is inserted in the lip under local analgesia through small incisions placed inside the corners of the mouth. The lip may feel stiff initially after the procedure but then softens over the next several months. Results with AlloDerm can be permanent. However, graft absorption may occur in some patients.
