What can be achieved with rhinoplasty?
You would first meet with Dr. Grigoryants for an initial consultation. The doctor will discuss your goals with you and examine your nose. Dr. Grigoryants will also take a picture of you and show you on the computer how your nose can be reshaped. Different realistic versions of your nose will be produced on the computer to see which nose looks better. Dr. Grigoryants will meet with you again for a preoperative visit 2-3 weeks prior to surgery to review the rhinoplasty procedure and give you preoperative and postoperative instructions.
Some of the effects that can be achieved by rhinoplasty include:

The boxy or bulbous tip of the nose can be refined
-
Droopy nose can be rotated up
-
A long nose can be made shorter
-
A wide nose can be narrowed
-
Certain traumatic deformities of the nose can be improved or corrected
-
Certain causes of nasal airway obstruction can be treated
In some patients with a small chin, a chin augmentation may improve the balance
between the face and the nose. A detailed analysis of your nose and facial features will be performed during your

How and where is nasal reshaping (rhinoplasty) done?
Rhinoplasty in some patients can be performed using local analgesia and sedation. General anesthesia is used in most patients to maximize patient comfort and safety. The choice of anesthesia depends on the type of nasal reshaping to be performed, your preference, and your medical condition.
For most rhinoplasty patients, Dr. Grigoryants places incisions inside the nose. The sutures are absorbable and do not need to be removed. In some patients a small incision may need to be placed at the base of the nose.
To assure the highest safety for his patients, Dr. Grigoryants performs surgery primarily at the hospital as well as at several accredited surgical centers. Your anesthesia will be performed by experienced and board certified anesthesiologists (doctors). Our facilities have state-of-the-art equipment as well as experienced and friendly staff.
Will I have packing in my nose?
Dr. Grigoryants does not use nasal packing.
What is recovery like after rhinoplasty?
You will have a splint on your nose that will be removed on day 5 or 6 after surgery. Many patients will be instructed to continue taping the nose at night for the next 8-10 days. Dr. Grigoryants will teach you how to tape the nose and will provide you with the tape after surgery. Most swelling will resolve within several weeks. However, it may take up to a year for all swelling to resolve completely. Most patients are very pleased with the results. Some patients request a touch-up procedure to further refine the results.
When can I resume wearing glasses?
If reshaping of the bones is performed, then patients can usually resume wearing glasses in about 4 weeks afters surgery. However, if only tip reshaping is done, then glasses can be worn in 5-6 days after rhinoplasty.
Does insurance cover rhinoplasty?
Cosmetic rhinoplasty is not covered by insurances. Patients who have breathing problems through the nose may be eligible for insurance coverage for the medical or breathing improvement part of surgery. Coverage depends on the type of insurance.
Can rhinoplasty be combined with other procedures?
